On May 27th, 2026, Gem Space celebrated its 10th anniversary. What began as a small messenger application with a handful of installations has grown into a global Super App used by 51 million people across 194 countries, with an independent valuation of $2.1 billion and a product ecosystem spanning sovereign national messengers and enterprise secure communications. The anniversary conference brought together the Board of Directors and members of the President’s Board to reflect on the journey and share what comes next.
Ten Years in Numbers
The transformation over the past decade is best understood through the numbers.

The journey started with a screenshot of the first 100 installations — back when the app was simply called Gem.

From there, the installation count grew to 1 million.

Then 5 million, then 10 million.

And now over 51 million. The counter on Google Play is approaching the 50 million milestone specifically on Android, which will trigger a significant threshold change in the store’s display — a strategically meaningful moment for the company’s negotiating position with potential buyers and partners.

The application has gone through nearly a thousand releases across Android, iOS, web, backend, and service infrastructure over its lifetime. In the past year alone, the platform recorded 155 million messages sent, billions of message views, 28 million calls, 75,000 days of total time spent in the application, and 38,000 new channels created. These are not projections — they are current statistical achievements.

The value of the application has grown consistently with every independent audit. And the company knows exactly how to increase that value not just incrementally, but by tens of times — through the functionality now being implemented.

What’s Coming: The Biggest Leap Yet
Looking back over 10 years of development, the single biggest transformation is happening right now in 2026. The leap being made this year will radically change the appearance, functionality, and strategic importance of the Gem Space platform.

This year’s initiatives include internal monetization — the launch of financial flows directly within the app — along with premium accounts, advertising streams, paid subscriptions, the mini-app platform, and the PayGem digital wallet. These are not distant plans. They are being actively built and implemented now.

The foundation built over 10 years of continuous development makes all of this possible. What may have looked like slow progress during those years was in reality the construction of a powerful and resilient infrastructure — one that now enables the company to launch digital initiatives that will drive a sharp increase in the platform’s value.
Additionally, just days before the anniversary, Gem Soft CEO Michael Jordan gave an interview to Business Year in its 2026 edition, highlighting the company’s strategic approach within the GCC and its overall progress in the region. The interview covers achievements from 2025 and what lies ahead in the near and long-term future.

In the video below, Michael Jordan shares a personal congratulations to the entire Gem Soft family on the occasion of Gem Space’s 10th anniversary — with a message from the ground in Qatar. 👇
The Principles of Building the Future
The anniversary conference went beyond product updates. It addressed the foundational philosophy behind everything the company does.
The core principle is straightforward: moving from passive waiting to actively designing reality. The team and investors are not spectators. They are agents responsible for building the future they want — with the tools and platforms they have created.

The world is entering a period of turbulence — in economics, in finance, in international relations. This is a phase crisis, and its effects will be felt across all industries and all spheres of human existence. One can fear it, accept it, or reject it. But one can also prepare for it. That is what this project represents.
In the video below, our GCC regional team member Oleg Lipovestkiy, shares what it has taken to establish a real presence in one of the world’s most dynamic and demanding markets. From completing registrations and certifications to building trust with governments, financial institutions, and large enterprises — this is what entering the Middle East actually looks like.
The integration of large language model technologies — artificial intelligence — into the Gem Space platform is one of the key levers identified for multiplying the platform’s value many times over. These models, properly integrated, transform the platform from a communication tool into a data-rich ecosystem capable of enabling entirely new forms of commerce, knowledge exchange, and service monetization. The platform earns. Its value grows. And the people on it have new tools to monetize their own knowledge and skills.
A Vision Written 28 Years Ago
One of the most thought-provoking contributions to the conference came in the form of a historical reference. In 1997, two Swedish authors — Kjell Nordström and Jonas Ridderstråle — wrote a book called Funky Business. In it, they predicted that digital platforms would change human behavior, that information would become more valuable than oil, that ecosystems would start to outperform individual products, and that mainstream big tech would first centralize enormous power before the world began returning to digital sovereignty and national platforms.
Few believed it then. Today, almost everything they predicted has come true.
Ten years ago, Gem Space began speaking through its founders and early believers about a world that seemed too distant and too unreal to most people. That world is now arriving.
Think about how behavior has already shifted. When was the last time you searched directly on a website? Nobody does that anymore. Everyone uses messengers, AI bots, single entry points. Everything is moving in one direction — a single account, a single ecosystem, a single entry point for communication, commerce, services, and payments.
Today, there are 6 million applications on Google Play and in the App Store. But people do not need millions of apps. They need one entry point to a mini-app platform. That point is becoming the Gem Space Super App.

Today, there are countless AI services. But people do not need dozens of separate AI tools. They need one single entry point. The Gem Space Super App is becoming that entry point.
One account. One conversation. One communication. One ecosystem.
And the question that matters most in the era of artificial intelligence is the one every country, every corporation, and every individual is now asking: who controls this infrastructure? Who owns the correspondence? Who controls the calls, the payments, the recommendations, the money?
GemSpace answers that question — with sovereignty, security, and independence at its core.
We are at what can only be described as the moment of truth. Everything worked for over the past decade has come to fruition. The products exist. The market is asking for exactly what was built. And the best days are still ahead.
Happy 10th anniversary, Gem Space!
