What will it take to move Qatar’s startup ecosystem into its next stage of growth?

On 16th June, US-Qatar Business Council – Doha (USQBC Doha) and International Finance Corporation (IFC Middle East), a member of the World Bank Group (WBG), with QNB Group as Lead Sponsor, convened senior officials, private sector leaders, investors, leading universities, and ecosystem enablers to consider that question through the lens of evidence, experience, and execution.

The session launched a new roadmap for accelerating Qatar’s startup ecosystem and strengthening its global competitiveness. It provided an evidence base to engage the private sector with greater precision—identifying where investment can be mobilized, where institutional gaps need to be addressed, and where Qatar’s distinctive position within the GCC creates opportunities for founders, investors, and businesses.

The participants explored how the study’s findings can be translated into stronger partnerships, greater capital deployment, and tangible opportunities for startup growth and international expansion.

USQBC Doha remains committed to turning evidence and dialogue into deals, partnerships, and growth that advance Qatar’s innovation-driven economic diversification.

And of course, our very own Michael Jordan — one of the board members — was part of this. That’s no coincidence. Can’t say too much, but we’re operating at the very highest level, across multiple countries. 😇🫶
