Gem Soft Monthly Briefing — April 20, 2026: Development Updates, Saudi Arabia Progress

Gem Space B2C: What’s Being Built Right Now

A new release was implemented on March 26th following extensive testing on the pre-production environment. This release was substantial — over 50 improvements across various platforms, including bug fixes, closing loopholes, improving moderation, and more.

The data migration process continues and has now moved to the most sensitive resource — messages. All chats and messages within those chats are now actively being migrated away from Google infrastructure to Gem Soft’s own solutions. This is a lengthy, painstaking, and highly responsible process given the sheer volume of messages, stickers, and files accumulated over many years. The infrastructure team together with the back-end development team constantly monitors server status, improves performance, adds resources where needed, and adapts servers to operate more efficiently. This resource and cost optimization track is an ongoing and significant area of work.

A major new release is coming on April 27th — over 100 improvements and many fixes, including those related to issues reported by users to support. Among the new features is call history, making it easy for users to see who they called and who called them. This has already been tested and is a popular addition.

Active development of the mini-app platform has also begun. A large number of engineers are currently involved across iOS, Android, web, and back-end infrastructure. The team is developing both the general platform for mini apps and conceptualizing future mini apps that will serve as examples for third-party developers — offering not just a concept, but a working implementation based on the company’s own products. The wallet is directly tied to this work and its development is actively shaping the mini-app platform architecture.

A separate security track is focused on content moderation and blocking of inappropriate chats and messages. The support team actively monitors, removes, and bans undesirable accounts.

One of the most significant upcoming features is a user score system — a fraud prevention mechanism designed to reduce the negative impact of bad actors. When a user registers, they are assigned a starting score that fluctuates based on their actions within the system. Legitimate users who do not violate usage rules will not be affected. However, users engaging in spam, mass messaging, or distributing prohibited content will see their score decrease. Once a user falls below a certain threshold, their account or specific actions are blocked for a growing period — starting at three days, then ten days, and eventually resulting in a permanent blacklist. This system is designed to proactively identify suspicious behavior and protect the ecosystem.

Gem Team B2B: New Release and Cloud Development

Version 2.1.1 was recently released for Gem Team — a minor stabilization update. The most significant addition in this release is a completely new monitoring and logging system for on-premise installations. Companies that host Gem Team on their own servers can now monitor system operability, performance, quality, and load in real time — allowing them to proactively manage resources and prevent issues before they impact users. Over 50 bug fixes from the backlog and support tickets were also included.

Several exciting developments are underway for the next major release. End-to-end P2P encryption between clients — one of the most significant competitive differentiators — is currently in active testing across all platforms and is close to release. New administration functionality is also advancing, which is critical not only for corporations but increasingly for countries as the national messenger use case grows. System auditing features are also being developed to help clients monitor and report on platform activity.

On the cloud side, development of Gem Team Cloud is progressing actively. The hosting solution will allow small companies — individual entrepreneurs or small businesses with 10, 15, or 20 employees who don’t have the technical infrastructure to run an on-premise installation — to simply go to the website, register their company in a few clicks, and immediately start communicating and calling within their own secure environment. Payment infrastructure is being developed simultaneously, with integration planned for providers across different regions of the world. This will be introduced to the market at the end of the second quarter.

Saudi Arabia: High-Demand Testing Underway

Regarding the number of active test deployments — as new companies approach the team, resources are reallocated quickly to prioritize the most promising clients. A notable current example is in Saudi Arabia, where a group of engineers reached out who five years ago were allocated government funds to develop Saudi Arabia’s own national messenger. That project was never completed. They have now approached Gem Soft, and the team is currently preparing infrastructure for their testing. This is one of the most strategically significant opportunities currently in progress.

The events in the Gulf have slowed some processes, but once the initial shock passed, the realization set in across the region that controlled communication infrastructure is not a luxury — it is a necessity. Demand for the technology has accelerated accordingly.

Key Investor Questions Answered

On the question of class A shares — with approximately 3 million shares remaining, the team is monitoring trends carefully. Given the new features launching this year, the expectation is that revenue generation will begin either from white label national messenger sales or from a global strategic sale before all shares are exhausted. No additional shares are expected to be issued at this stage.

On white label sales and dividend distribution — funds received from white label sales are treated as income, not profit. As with all companies, income is first used to continue developing and growing the product. Fifty percent of the proceeds are directed back into the company’s development, and fifty percent are distributed as profit to shareholders according to the coefficient of corporate activity applicable to class A shares.

On the question of X Chat launching — a detailed analysis was prepared. The messenger market is not a winner-takes-all market. WhatsApp, Telegram, WeChat, Line, KakaoTalk, Signal, Facebook Messenger, iMessage, and Viber have all coexisted for ten to fifteen years, each with strong regional niches. The launch of X Chat by one of the world’s wealthiest individuals confirms that this is a large and important market — and that Gem Soft is on the right path.

However, X Chat is not a standalone messenger. It is a feature of the X social network — the same network facing political polarization, bot traffic, moderation scandals, and advertiser losses. A significant portion of the world — Europe, Russia, the CIS, the Middle East, Latin America, and parts of Asia — approaches Musk’s products with caution, for political or regulatory reasons.

Gem Space, by contrast, has been positioned from the start as a neutral, non-politicized platform not tied to any country or political figure. The emerging global trend of national messengers — governments seeking sovereign digital infrastructure under their own control — will never hand communication infrastructure to a politically polarizing figure. Gem Space offers full customization, local hosting, and complete control transfer to the acquiring country or region.

Additionally, Elon Musk is simultaneously managing Tesla, SpaceX, XAI, the X social network, Neurolink, the Boring Company, and political involvement. X Chat will be one of many projects competing for his attention. History shows that large, distracted corporations often lose to small, focused teams. Gem Soft does nothing else but develop and advance its messenger — and in the long term, that focus is a decisive advantage.

Gem Soft is not competing with Musk for users in America where X is most popular. It is building infrastructure for markets where X Chat is either not needed, not wanted, or banned. These are fundamentally different games — even if in the same broad market sector. The news about X Chat is not a threat. It is a confirmation that the direction is correct.

Installation Milestone Update

Total installations are approaching 51 million. On the Google Play store specifically, the counter currently shows 10 million as the displayed milestone — Google uses thresholds of 1 million, 5 million, 10 million, 50 million, and 100 million rather than exact figures. The actual number of Android installations is approaching 42 million. Once the 50 million mark is crossed on Android alone, the Google Play counter will update to reflect this milestone — a strategically significant threshold for the company’s negotiating position with potential buyers and partners.

On the trademark front — a third-party app using the “Gem Space” name was identified at the April 6th conference. Legal review confirmed that the Gem Space trademark is protected. A formal claim has been submitted to the app store that hosted the app. A response has not yet been received, as this process takes time, but the matter has been properly documented and officially submitted.
